This fabric is not only good to use as a shawl/scarf/veil, but also to cut out your trimming/facing for your tunic or dress. Or as the Romans call it : clavi.
Furthermore to be used as lining for bags and hats, and for baby/little children’s clothes.
Plant dyed fabrics are known for their unique color, as well as the dark and light shades in the fabric. This is because it is handwork. The fabrics are dyed in large cauldrons on open fire. Delicate shades are known to be acceptable or even loved.
It is recommended to wash this fabric before you use it, especially red and blue tend to ‘bleed’ a bit. Keeping the temperature on 30 degrees celcius and with the use of soft detergent, it will not affect the color or size of the fabric.
