This is the king of colours. The incomparable and only natural intense blue dye. Of course there is woad, but this contains much less of the exact same ingredient: Indigotine.

Only 2% w.o.f. (weight of fabric) is needed in order to get deep blue colours. A special prepared dye vat with Sodium hydrosulphite is what differs Indigo from most other natural dyes.
